With over a decade of teaching experience, Scott has taught pupils at multiple stages of drumming, ranging from complete beginners to experienced players. During this time he has successfully guided many pupils through both Trinity College London and Rock School exams. Additionally to his BA degree in Popular Music from Edinburgh Napier University, Scott holds qualifications in Grade 8 Trinity College London Drum Kit and Grade 5 ABRSM Music Theory.

Although exams can be excellent inspiration for progressing, it's by no means the only route to take. Many of Scott's pupils are taught using only material and methods he has collected and organised to give each drummer the necessary tools to become better as drummers and musicians.

Scott has been fortunate enough to study with world renowned drummers and educators Mark Guiliana, Mike Johnston, Ash Soan and Jost Nickel.

He is currently the drum kit and percussion tutor at various schools within Scottish Borders Council, a supply tutor for Edinburgh Council Instrumental Music Service, and also teaches privately. Scott has previously worked with Strathallan School (Perth), St Mary's School (Scottish Borders), Chalmers Mackay Music School (Aberdeen), The Merlin Music Academy (Scottish Borders), Lamphouse Music (East Lothian) and Edinburgh Schools Rock Ensemble. He also holds a MU Membership and has an up to date PVG Certificate. Please use the Contact page to get in touch about lessons/workshops/clinics.
